Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is concentrated with platelets from your own blood, which contains many growth factors. This makes the injectable virtually risk free of an allergic reaction. PRP stimulates a healing response. PRP has been used in orthopedics for decades and is now being used in the face and scalp for aesthetic purposes. PRP has been observed in rejuvenating skin texture, skin volume, reducing wrinkles, strengthening hair follicles and diminishing scars.

During the treatment a small amount of blood is drawn from the client and spun down to separate the red and white blood cells from the growth factors and cytokines. This is referred to as ‘liquid gold’. This liquid gold is then used topically or as an injectable for specific treatments. At Solasta we use PRFM to be injected into the scalp, face or hands. We also use it topically which can help reduce healing times post ablative laser and help rejuvenate the skin by stimulating the body’s own collagen production.

PRFM is the next generation of PRP, it provides a scaffold that serves to better protect and preserve platelets. As an injection PRP is used as a filler replacement or in conjunction with another filler (also known as a vampire facelift).

Neurotoxins

Clostridia botulina bacteria produce a class of chemical compounds known as “toxins”. The Botulina Type A Toxin (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) is processed and purified to produce a sterile product suitable for specific therapeutic uses. Once the diluted toxin is injected, it produces a temporary paralysis of muscle by preventing the transmission of nerve impulses to muscle. This muscle paralysis generally lasts for approximately three to four months.

As of April 2002, the FDA approved the cosmetic treatment of forehead wrinkles cause by specific muscle groups. Other areas of the face and body such as crows feet wrinkles and neck bands may be treated in an “off-label” fashion. Botox, Dysport and Xeomin have been used to treat migraine headaches, excessive perspiration of armpit and hands and musculoskeletal pain disorders.

Cosmetic treatments are customized for every patient, depending on his or her particular needs. Injections can be performed in areas involving the eyelid region, forehead and neck. Although these injections cannot stop the process of aging, it will diminish the look of wrinkles caused by muscle groups if injected regularly.

Fillers

  • Juvederm products (Ultra, Ultra Plus, Voluma)
Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers adds volume to a different area of the face to lift cheeks, smooth parentheses lines, or plump the lips. The results are natural looking and long lasting. The JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). What’s interesting about HA is that it’s a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from a modified form of HA.
  • Restylane products (Silk, Restylane, Lyft)
The Restylane line of hyaluronic acid fillers is used to smooth away wrinkles and fine lines (Restylane & Restylane Lyft), create fuller and more accentuated lips (Restylane Silk), and add lift and volume to the cheeks (Restylane Lyft). All Restylane products work to enhance facial features and give long-lasting, yet non-permanent results. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps provide fullness and elasticity. Hyaluronic acid diminishes as we age, causing skin to lose volume while increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear.
  • Radiesse
RADIESSE is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Once injected, it provides immediate volume and correction but continues to work by stimulating the body to produce its own natural collagen. Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres leaving behind only your own natural collagen.
  • Belotero
BELOTERO BALANCE® injectable gel is a hyaluronic acid injection that is used to temporarily smooth out and fill in moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds as well as other moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles around your lips and mouth.

Sclerotherapy for Leg Veins

Asclera® (polidocanol) Injection is a prescription medicine that is used in a procedure called sclerotherapy to remove unwanted veins on your legs. It is administered to treat two types of veins:

Uncomplicated spider veins (very small varicose veins ≤ 1 mm in diameter)

Uncomplicated small varicose veins (1 to 3 mm in diameter) known as reticular veins

Asclera is injected with a tiny needle directly to the vascular area. It produces an irritation to the lining of the vessel, which closes the vessel down. There is a gradual fading of this bruised area which can last from several weeks to months. This makes it an ideal treatment for the cooler months. Often multiple treatments are needed and can differ between patients. The average number is from three to five.
